Grades 4-6 At Home Learning Activities

This week we celebrate Earth Day and Environmental Awareness. Please CHOOSE ONE of these activities to complete the week of April 20-25. If you have any quesitons or need support, please email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to provide support!

Acquire A Skill: Try writing a poem! Your poem can be about nature if you choose or you can write a poem about anything! You can even make up a word and create a poem around that word. Watch the attached video to get some ideas on poem writing. Write your poem in your journal.?

Build A Habit

Showing gratitude takes practice. This activity asks you to draw a tree (or print the attached) to focus your gratitude. The curves on the ground show what the things that ground or support you are. Your trunk is your gratitude, the big branches the most important people/things in your life, the smaller branches, and the smaller things in life. You can see an example of a completed tree on our school counseling web site.

Listen To Another:

Listen to the attached song by Logan Black. When you listen to this what images, sensations, feelings or memories do you notice having? Listen to the song again notice do your images, sensations, feelings, or memories, change or intensify? Journal about your experience.

Exercise Your Mind and Body:

Tree Pose provides us with strength, stretching, centering, and balance. Follow along with this video to practice how doing tree pose "feels". Notice that she pays attention to posture, opposition, and standing tall. Watch the video and practice your tree pose on both sides at least three time this week. Journal about what you notice.??
