The Tenth Street Elementary Annual Battery Powered Car Race is a STEAM activity and race competition for student-built model cars. The objective of the race is for 6th-grade teams to design, build, test, and race a battery-powered car that will race 60 feet from the starting line to the finish line as fast as possible. The teams are only given a motor and two AA batteries.
The teams work through the engineering design process to create and test their cars. This year's winning car was "The Shrek Mobile" with a time of 4.83 seconds.
The winning team was: Ava Emanuele, Zoe Zottola, Gia Hunter, and Betsy McFadden. Congratulations!
