5 Riverview Seniors Reach Ultimate 'Capstone,' Named Riverview Global Scholars!

Riverview Seniors Lola Abraham, Caroline Harden, Cohen Hoolahan, Georgia Tsambis, and Brandon Williams, presented their collaborative Capstone project to members of the Riverview School Board, local business leaders, and parents to complete the requirements for the Riverview Global Scholars Certificate.
On Monday, May 6, five Riverview Seniors, Lola Abraham, Caroline Harden, Cohen Hoolahan, Georgia Tsambis, and Brandon Williams, presented their collaborative Capstone project to members of the Riverview School Board, local business leaders, and parents to complete the requirements for the Riverview Global Scholars Certificate.

This 4-year certificate program requires students to complete specific academic coursework in global history and foreign language, participate in extra-curricular activities, and complete extensive service work concentrated on globally focused issues.

The Capstone presentation focused on the service-learning project that had the students teaching Spanish to elementary-age students and shared the importance of global awareness in the current world. The presentation also provided the recipients an opportunity to share how the Global Scholars Program has impacted their lives individually and served as an influence on their chosen career path.

5 students received a certificate of achievement and an honor cord (black, light blue, and white to represent Riverview and United Nations colors) that they will wear at graduation. Congratulations Lola, Callie, Cohen, Georgia, and Brandon!
