Amby Bauer Breaks His Own Riverview Record at the Butler Invitational!

Amberson Bauer lowered his own RHS 800 record on Friday night under the lights at the Butler Invitational – one of the biggest Track and Field invitationals in Pennsylvania.

Amby, a College of William and Mary recruit, registered a 1:53.22 lowering his own RHS record by more than 2 seconds in a dramatic race against defending WPIAL AAA champion Jacob Puhalla of Moon Area. In this classic battle, Moon’s Puhalla, a Univ of Louisville recruit,  took the lead from the gun and controlled the race for the first 600 meters. With 200 to go, Amby made his patented come from behind surge that had the 2 stars neck and neck down the stretch before Jacob edged Amby by .11 seconds.

As of Friday, their finishing times were this season’s fastest two times in Pennsylvania regardless of classification and ranked in the top 50 nationally. Congratulations, Amby!
