Congratulations to rising senior Lola Abraham and Class of 2023 graduate Amberson Bauer for being named 2023 Academic All Americans by the National High School Coaches Association! They were chosen among a record number of applicants this year, creating one of the most competitive seasons ever for the prestigious title.
Both selections are fitting given each of their accomplishments; Lola Abraham became Riverview’s all-time leading scorer and top scorer this past season in WPIAL girls soccer. In track and field, Lola broke the Riverview 100m dash record set 20 years ago. She currently holds records in three different Riverview sports programs. Amberson Bauer set numerous records himself, and recently led to Riverview's first individual PIAA title in a decade after winning the 800m run, not to mention a double win in 1600m and 800m at the WPIAL Championships, another first for Riverview. Amberson is attending the College of William & Mary this fall.
