3.2.21 Superintendent's Bulletin

Dear Riverview Parents,

I know that we just communicated with you on Friday of last week, but breaking news seems to be the "new normal" this year.  Therefore, we have information for you that was just released today, and we felt it was important to make you aware.
Therefore, please read the following items in their entirety:

  1. PA Travel Restrictions Lifted - Earlier today, the Governor lifted the current PA travel order dating back to December 9th of 2020. The Governor validates this decision by the current downward trend of cases nationwide and implementation of testing requirements and universal face coverings on public transportation and transportation hubs; therefore reducing the risk of interstate travel being a vector for disease transmission.  He also attributes this decision to reduced cases, hospitalizations and deaths, and the more than 2.3 million vaccinations that have been administered thus far.  If you are traveling out of state for spring break, breathe easy (no pun intended).  However, please continue to wear masks and take precaution when traveling and mixing with sets of people from other States and regions.
  2. Indoor Occupancy Limits Raised - The Governor revised the maximum occupancy limits for indoor events from 10% to 15% of maximum occupancy, regardless of venue size. This isn't a significant change, but might be helpful as spring events grow nearer.
  3. Outdoor Occupancy Limits Raised - Finally, the Governor also revised maximum occupancy limits for outdoor events to allow for 20% of maximum occupancy, regardless of venue size.  This will also be a help this spring for outdoor events.
  4. Budget Meeting Tonight - We have a Board meeting tonight at 7pm dedicated to the 2021-2022 preliminary budget.  A special thanks goes out to Ms. Tammy Good and the Business Department for their staunch dedication to the continued solvency of the District.  Tonight's meeting is strictly an information session; meaning there is no public comment.  We also have our study session meeting on March 8th which will include discussions about school plans and a host of other important topics.  We then follow up with the voting meeting on March 15th.  As you can see, March will be a very busy month for the Board.  We encourage you to attend!

That's all for now (hopefully).  Have a very happy, safe, peaceful week.

Go Raiders!

Sincerely,
The Riverview Administration
