Lady Raiders traveled to Leechburg yesterday and in past experience, I knew they were in for a battle of the body as well as the mind. Our JV were not 100% strong due to injuries and sickness but with great joy our Freshies stepped up and got right in the battle! Freshman Katie Rose, Olivia Rossi, Zoey Metz, Lauren Dugan and Tenaeja Sheffey all started us off…..end of the 1st Riverview 11 Leechburg 12.
Half-time score Riverview 18 Leechburg 15. Nearing the end of the 3rd things started to get extremely rough! When players on the opposing team start getting technical fouls……here is when you see where your players are with controlling their emotions on the court. End of 3rd Riverview 19 Leechburg 23.

Here’s where the winning comes in for Riverview, as I watched with my own eyes and heard with my own ears, our bench NEVER ceasing to cheer their teammates on, the Varsity players totally engaged on the sidelines and pulling for their team. There were innumerable times our Lady Raiders when one of their teammates got pummeled to the ground, not 1 but ALL 4 of her teammates swarmed in to help her up! You want more Raider Pride??? When one of our Lady Raiders reached out their hand to offer a Lady Devil player up from start to finish. Even when things started to go extremely ugly, our Lady Raiders displayed the epitome of the acronym R.O.O.T.S. They played with respect:
