Riverview Holds First-Ever Elementary Science Fair!

The 1st Riverview Elementary Science Fair was held on March 15th at Tenth Street Elementary School and more than 30 participants from Tenth Street and Verner gathered to present their projects!

Three judges from the community offered feedback to these young scientists using a rubric to evaluate their use of the Scientific Method, their poster quality, and their presentation skills as they spoke to visitors and judges about their investigations.

Each student received a medal for their participation and a ticket to submit for a chance drawing to award some prizes donated by the following raffle sponsors: Mystery Lovers Bookshop, Dr. & Mr. Favo, the Sullivan Family, and the Machen Family. We hope this interest and participation at the elementary level will help to lay the groundwork for continued student success in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Sciences (PJAS) program at Riverview Junior-Senior High School.

The Tenth Street PTO would like to thank Mr. Bill Benusa, Ms. Amber Yon, and Mr. Tim Milberger for giving their time and expertise as judges, as well as Tara Goldberg-DeLeo, Sylvia Sullivan, and Rachel Machen for serving on the Science Fair Committee that organized the event! Also, special thanks to Dr. Favo for her unwavering commitment to science and learning!
