Riverview National History Day Gets Top Placements at State Finals!
On Saturday and Sunday May 7-8, 13 Riverview students participated in the National History Day State Finals at the University of Scranton.

Seven students (Lily Bauer, Chiara Brun, Lily Hood, Brady Daugherty, Sofia Emanuele, Rosalie Krusinski, and Molly Morrissey) participated in-person while 6 students (Tyler Aftanas, Luke Huffman, Chris O'Toole, Levi Roupas, Noah Vespi, and Dino Yario) participated virtually. The state finals brought together competitors who attained the top 14% of all students in the regional History Day competitions from across the state of Pennsylvania. The students presented their projects to judges and faced questions and held discussions with the judges on-site.  Two groups (listed below) placed in the top 6 in the state of Pennsylvania for their respective categories.

Chiara Brun and Molly Morrissey won First place for their Senior Group Performance about the end of World War II entitled "Secrets of 1945: Behind the Scenes of Potsdam"

Tyler Aftanas, Luke Huffman, and Dino Yario finished in 4th place for their Senior Group Website entitled "The Ups and Downs of British Trade Unions and their Development"

As a top state finisher, Chiara and Molly will now compete in the National Finals during the week of June 12- 18.

Congratulations to all Riverview participants and good luck to Chiara and Molly at the National Finals! You all make Riverview Proud!
