Students learn important grief support skills during unique summit

Last week, students attended the Caring Team for Grieving Students Summit. Four students from Verner and Tenth Street (two of each) went room-to-room with their teachers to see the ways they could engage with people grieving across age groups, from toddlers to parents and grandparents.

The students who attended were:

Hadley Gee (6th Grade - Verner)

Joedazi White (6th Grade - Verner)

Ava Emanuele (6th Grade - 10th street)

Penny Aexiur (6th Grade - 10 Street)

Students were pleasantly surprised by the unique learning experience! They learned that grief is not something that goes away, but changes. Students returned to class with this these valuable strategies to share and support with their fellow classmates.
