On Saturday, February 5th, 14 Riverview students participated virtually in the regional Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) competition. PJAS allows students to complete scientific laboratory experiments and STEM related investigations under the guidance of a teacher mentor. Students then present their results to a panel of scientists, engineers, and teacher who evaluate the quality of the student's work.
The following students presented projects at the competition:
Name | Grade | Category | Project Title |
Julian Abella | 8 | Chemistry | Investigating the Production of a Precipitate |
Lucy Alberts | 8 | Chemistry | Investigating the Production of a Gas |
Rocco Brown | 8 | Physics | The Effect of Snow on Solar Panels |
Isabel Chaparro | 8 | Botany | Experimenting with Hydroponics and Nutrients |
Sienna Daley | 8 | Botany | Granular Versus Liquid Fertilizer |
Murphy Hawk | 8 | Biochemistry | Investigating Cellular Respiration |
