Riverview wins Best Small School Delegation at University of Michigan for Third Straight Year

The weekend of January 16-19, 2025 had nine members of the Riverview Model UN team battling the snow and 800 students from 40 different high schools across the country at the 38th annual University of Michigan Model United Nations Conference. The team consisted of seniors Renton Biondich, Chiara Brun, Carter Loughren, Molly Morrissey, and Drew Ogrodowski as well as juniors Rocco Brown, Grace Johnson, Braden Longstreth, and Siddaly Sykes. Throughout the weekend, the members of the team were integral in leading discussion in their committee rooms, often being praised for their professionalism and creativity. The impressive academic performance culminated in the team winning its third-straight Best Small Delegation award at the University of Michigan conference. In addition to the team award, 4 members of the team won individual awards at the conference.

Grace Johnson - Second Place Outstanding Delegate as Raymond Rock in the Canadian House of Commons
Carter Loughren - Second Place Outstanding Delegate as Leslie R. Groves in the Manhattan Project
Drew Ogrodowski - Second Place Outstanding Delegate as Robert Viren in the Russia-Japanese War Joint Crisis Committee

These 5 awards bring the team total to 29 for the school year with 3 conferences remaining. The team will next be traveling to the University of Toronto the weekend of February 6-9.
