Our teachers attended professional development at the Pittsburgh Zoo, UPMC WISER Simulation Lab, and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History as part of a grant for Educators to explore workplace opportunities and bring the experience back to the classroom.
Each visit was designed to help
teachers create meaningful lessons that address the career and technology
standards across the grades they teach. The experiences
included interviews with zookeepers, scientists, doctors, and technology
professionals. These 24 elementary, Jr. High, and High school teachers will
reconvene in August for professional development and lesson planning on career
exploration in their classrooms.
Thank you, teachers, for your
dedication to your craft and the future learning of our students!
