Superintendent's Bulletin 3.19.21

Dear Riverview Parents,

Happy Friday!  We have a few items to share with you this week.  Please read the items below in their entirety:

  1. 4th Marking Period– As many of you know, the Board voted in favor of the administration’s 4th marking period instructional recommendation, which includes a 100% in-person option and a 100% virtual option.  Thank you for completing your selection survey last week.  For the few parents that have still not responded, please call and let us know which option you choose so that we can prepare our spaces accordingly.  The new changes begin on Tuesday, April 6th.  You will be receiving more information from your Principals as this date gets closer.  Our Staff is incredibly EXCITED to have more students back in the buildings.  We hope you feel the same.
  2. Increased Focus on Health and Safety – Our 4th marking period plan is predicated on health and safety conditions continuing to improve.  Although vaccines are becoming more available, this is not the time to let up.  In order for our plan to work, it is crucial that you continue to stay vigilant on keeping the kids safe outside of school.  This includes wearing masks when you leave the home, keeping children from playing in close proximity to others, and avoiding travel to the greatest extent possible.  If you do your part at home, we can better keep everyone safe at school.  We thank you in advance for your partnership.
  3. Gratitude - BOE – This week we would like to extend our gratitude to the Riverview School Board.  Like all of us, they have had to make difficult decisions in a stressful and pressure-packed environment.  Through this difficult year, however, they have kept the health and safety of the students and community at the heart of their decision-making and they should be commended for such.  If you see them, please thank them for their service, and know that they truly care about you and your children.
That’s all for this week.  The weekend is supposed to be superb, so please get outside and enjoy the sun and warm weather.  Please continue to follow health and safety guidelines, schedule your vaccines as they become available, and stay vigilant on health and safety so that we can have a positive and safe 4th nine weeks; and stay happy, peaceful, and safe.
Go Raiders!
Sincerely,

The Riverview Administration
