Riverview Students Fill Regional STEM Competitions

Congratulations to our talented Riverview learners who continue to compete in regional STEM competitions throughout the pandemic!

Last month, more than a dozen of our students competed in two competitions: The CyberPatriot Cybersecurity competition and the Renewable Energy Bowl.

Here’s how our Riverview teams did:

CyberPatriot – On Dec. 11, the team of Riverview students Anthony Tominello, Xavier Bear, Orion Shields, Patrick Harvey, Jaiden Heffley, Olivia Rossi, CJ Untalan, Jack Migely and Jack Loughren qualified for Pennsylvania's Gold Tier of the Competition for only the third time in school history.

Renewable Energy Bowl – On Dec. 14, six Riverview students participated in the inaugural event against 21 other teams from nearby districts. The team of Ziad Jaafar, Patrick Harvey, Patrick Upperman, and Jack Flanick finished second, followed by the team of Jocelyn Schaaf and Hann Morrissey in third place.

In addition, several Riverview 7th graders placed in the large regional competition: Emily Chen, Morgan Sink, Isabel Chaparro, and Braden Longstreth finished in 9th place; Carter Loughren, Simon Meals, Noah Prosky, and John Bertucci finished in 10th place; and in 12th place was the team of Renton Biondich, Matt Orbin, Levi Roupas, and Luke Huffman.

Congratulations again and well done! You all make Riverview proud!
