This page lists the digital tools and applications approved for use with Riverview students. Each product has been reviewed for instructional value, data privacy, and security expectations. Riverview School District uses nationally recognized frameworks, including the TrustEd Apps Directory powered by 1EdTech, to evaluate how educational tools collect, use, protect, and share student data.
How Apps Are Reviewed
The district carefully selects systems and online resources that uphold the privacy of students and staff. When using third-party platforms that offer digital content, tools, or immersive experiences, it may be necessary to provide certain personally identifiable information—such as a student’s name and email address—to ensure proper functionality.
Under the
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), operators of websites and online services must provide parental notification and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under the age of 13. For school-authorized educational tools, COPPA permits school districts to provide consent on behalf of parents, provided the information is used solely for educational purposes and not for commercial activities such as advertising.
Privacy Policies
Please use the list below to access the privacy policies for apps installed on district devices. These apps have been reviewed for alignment with COPPA expectations and can be made available to students in the district. Access is determined by grade level, ensuring students only use content aligned to their academic needs. Anything not on the list is not supported or managed by the district.
Parents and Guardians should check this URL regularly to stay current on the latest apps and websites approved for use across the Riverview School District. This list may be updated as applications are added, reviewed, or retired throughout the school year.

Web Filtering and Monitoring:
To further maintain a secure and compliant digital learning environment, the district employs a global internet filter with Securly for consistent monitoring of student devices. By centralizing resources, providing pre-approved platforms, and utilizing advanced monitoring solutions, the district upholds its commitment to maintaining a safe, professional, and streamlined working environment for all staff.
Student Data Shared with Approved Applications
Riverview School District is committed to transparency regarding student privacy. While each approved application requires different information to function, the district shares only the minimum data necessary to support educational purposes. In addition to the list above, this document outlines the types of student information that may be shared with district-approved applications and services. Not every application receives every data element, and all approved vendors are reviewed to ensure they meet the district's privacy, security, and educational standards.

Student Privacy and COPPA
Riverview School District is preparing for updates to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), with vendors required to be fully compliant by April 2026. As part of this process, Riverview School District:
-
Verifies that approved vendors follow COPPA requirements;
-
Limits student data collection to educational purposes only;
-
Prohibits targeted advertising or non-educational data use;
-
Requires vendors to define data retention and deletion practices.
Approved tools listed on this page are intended for school-authorized educational use and are reviewed with these expectations in mind.
How is parental consent handled?
For many instructional tools, COPPA allows schools to provide consent on behalf of parents when the tool is used solely for educational purposes and not for commercial activities such as marketing or advertising.
Riverview communicates approved tools to families through this page and district communications. Parents may contact the district with questions or concerns about any listed application.
Apps Not Listed Here
Only tools listed on this page are approved for student use. Staff should not require or encourage students to create accounts or share personal information in applications not listed here.
Requests for new tools must be submitted for review before classroom use.
Review Process
Riverview School District reviews digital tools using a structured evaluation process aligned with the 1EdTech TrustEd App framework developed by 1EdTech. This review considers how each product integrates with student systems, what data is collected, how that data is used and protected, and whether the vendor meets expectations for interoperability, privacy, and security in K–12 environments.
The review process for teacher requests are found on the district's knowledgebase.
To support transparency and consistency, the district references review rubrics developed by 1EdTech TrustEd App, including the AI, Accessibility, and Security rubrics. These tools guide evaluation of instructional value, student data protection, and equitable access for all learners, helping ensure that approved applications align with established industry standards, legal requirements, and best practices for safe, inclusive, and effective classroom use.
