Dr. Margaret "Peggy" DiNinno
Dr. DiNinno is a proven and experienced leader. Prior to becoming
the Superintendent of Riverview, she served as the Superintendent of the
Apollo-Ridge School District, Assistant to the Superintendent for the
Penn-Trafford School District, House Principal of the North Hills Junior High
School, middle school reading and English teacher at Penn and Trafford Middle
Schools, and Title I Reading Specialist with the Ligonier Valley School
District. Additionally, Dr. DiNinno has unique experience coordinating Federal
Programs and Pupil and Personnel Services. She has a unique knowledge of
special education, gifted services, English as a second language (ESL) and
curriculum revision. Her doctoral research focused on the development of
distributed leadership practices and an exploration of those variables that
promote and inhibit the development of teacher leadership. Dr. DiNinno values
community service, as she has volunteered in youth athletic programs,
children’s theater organizations, and as an active member of her church.
Dr. DiNinno leads based on the notion that ALL children
can learn, ALL children are important, and that an experienced
and knowledgeable classroom teacher is the most important resource we can
provide to our students. She supports an organizational model that emphasizes
high expectations with a laser-like focus on continuous improvement.
She and her husband, Ralph, are proud parents of four children who
are currently successful adults in the world of business, opera, physical therapy
and actuarial science. In addition to being avid supporters of the arts and
athletics, they enjoy biking, hiking, traveling and physical fitness.
Dr. DiNinno has been the Superintendent of the Riverview School District since 2012.
