YUDA BANDS
In April, Riverview High School Key Club completed a YUDA Band service project that helped to change the lives of three youth in Guatemala. YUDA bands are all handmade in Guatemala, made out of coconut and leather. Each band has their own unique characteristics. Some have sports emblems, musical instruments and graduation years displayed on them. They’re all one of a kind with different colors and various options to choose from. They’re made by several former students in Guatemala who have graduated from the Yuda Bands scholarship program.

For every 175 bands sold, a student in Guatemala, who normally wouldn't have the opportunity to receive an education, is funded to receive an education complete with tuition, uniforms and books for a year. The efforts of Riverview High School Key Club, by selling 350 YUDA bands, allowed three students to receive this opportunity.

The YUDA Band project creates jobs in Guatemala, provides education for kids in 3rd world countries and empowers American youth to make a difference in their community.
