Riverview Students Reflect on Ways to Give Back to Their Community! In January, students in the Riverview School District spent some time reflecting on ways that they can give back to their community. After some reflection time, they created plans that supported their ability to put their words into action. Those plans will be implemented on May 1st when students will actively go out into the communities of Oakmont and Verona to put their plans into action. The annual GIVE BACK DAY event was started several years ago as a way of honoring Martin Luther King. Each year students spend a day reaching out to local residents by participating in activities like, visiting with senior citizens, providing landscaping manpower, performing, writing letters to service men and women, and honoring local emergency management personnel. GIVE BACK DAY gives the students the ability to GIVE BACK to the many residents who support our schools and our students’ education each year.
