My Biography:
I am very excited to be a part of the Riverview community, returning home to Pittsburgh after ten years in the Washington, D.C. area. I grew up in the Pittsburgh area and attended Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College at the University Park campus for my undergraduate degree in Secondary English and Communications Education. After graduating, I moved to Maryland and taught English and reading in the Montgomery County Public Schools. I received my Master’s degree in Human Development with a focus on adolescence and reading and obtained my certification as a Reading Specialist. I also attended a graduate program for a Literacy Coach Certificate and Library Sciences certification. I have experience teaching all grades from elementary reading intervention through undergraduate education students at the University of Maryland College Park.
I currently teach as a part of the Junior High English program, helping 7th and 8th grade students make the transition from elementary school and prepare for success in high school.
